Animation

eRATicate

eRATicate was created with five other people for Webster’s annual Film Jam, which included three categories: animation, film, and game. All the backgrounds in the film were designed and drawn by me, first in color and then adjusted with a black-and-white filter. Additionally, I also animated the title screen, the first shot, and the shot of the rat running away from the camera. The end title, which featured everyone’s names, also included small rats that were animated by the team.

The project received multiple honorable mentions from the same Film Jam, as well as from Kinematifest that same year. Due to a section of the animation using copyrighted music, eRATicate is ineligible for submission to non-school contests.

As High As The Fishies

As High as the Fishies was a project that highlighted the importance of time management. Due to frequent absences from track meets, completing the project on time became a real challenge. Missing the class where the professor had scheduled time in the audio booths with audio engineers only added to the difficulty. However, this experience taught a valuable lesson in managing time more effectively, especially when juggling multiple responsibilities. In the end, the audio was recorded and mixed just in time, and a friend provided most of the vocals for the main character, the cat, while a small part of the end vocals was recorded by me. This project served as a reminder of the need to plan ahead and make the most of available resources.

Small Animations

These animations were smaller class assignments, but they showcase different elements of animation, highlighting key skills and strengths. The projects include a table slap, an animated logo, a wizard who doesn’t want to get wet, and a candle getting blown out. The software used for all the 2-D animations is ToonBoom or Harmony Premium.
